installation hanging w/logo (large tote)

This is a small piece of my 30 foot installation suggesting the way light appears at daybreak over the mountains. In my childhood, I would ride in the early morning and for much of the year, the sky was dark when I started out and gradually became lighter so I could witness the grey surroundings turn into glowing color as the sun rose. In this piece are many, many small squares of hand-dyed silk with colors moving from one shade to another. I sewed each piece of silk one above the other to hang so the light of the place (gallery) could shimmer through, like dawn.
